Internal emails suggest Google is bringing generative AI to their Assistant⁶⁹¹. It’s somewhat baffling to me that the likes of Alexa and Siri haven’t been beefed up with LLMs yet. But Google has made a start, with work on the mobile product having started already. The reports are that the reshuffle to get this done will likely result in layoffs.
