It looks like Microsoft has realised that even a chatbot can’t pull people into the Edge Browser. Their Bing Chat is likely to come to Chrome and Safari⁴¹⁸ at some point, and is being rolled out to select users for testing now. Some reported issues so far: less messages per conversation (5) and a smaller character count (2000).

SoftBank (known for monster tech investments) has begun a joint venture with Symbotic AI (warehouse automation company). Together they have created GreenBox Systems, an AI warehousing joint venture³³⁷.

They plan to invest $100M and buy $7.5B of Sybotic’s AI systems. The warehousing AI space is gaining a lot of traction at the moment, and SoftBank say they wanna get behind the transformation of supply chains. Un-paywalled here³⁰³.

Geoffrey Hinton, the ‘godfather of AI’ who made headlines when he left Google, has been getting some of his views out there again. He’s suggesting that AI will, at some point develop feelings⁸³², and suspects that they may already have them.
